At Funventure, we are committed to providing an engaging and seamless gaming experience. To ensure our Miners Settlement storyline feels natural and compelling, we are releasing another A/B test on the early gameplay. This approach allows us to identify changes that enhance player engagement and enjoyment.
New RPG Experience
Based on player feedback and analytical data of Miners Settlement received from all supported platforms iOS, Google Play, and Steam. we’ve learned that the storyline is a major reason players continue their adventure in Miners Settlement. To elevate the RPG-like experience, we’re introducing changes at key points in the story and testing the impact of these updates.
We also understand that the puzzles in our game, though not overly challenging, are a delightful addition to daily gameplay. They offer a refreshing break and add depth to the Miners Settlement world.
What is A/B Testing?
A/B testing is like comparing two options to see which one works better. Think of it like choosing between two flyer designs. You show Design A to one group and Design B to another, then check which gets more attention or clicks. By using real feedback from players, A/B testing helps us make decisions based on facts, not guesses.
What Are We Testing?
In this A/B test, we’re evaluating how changes in the storyline impact player engagement and retention. Specifically, we’re looking at:
- Weather Story (Slime Quest): Starting right after the Iron Mine instead of the Magic Garden.
- Fishing Feature Unlock Timing: Now available 48 hours after account creation and requires completing the Sharra quest.
- Luna’s Storyline: Introducing a new story arc with a puzzle, including our first-ever comic integration.
Initial hiccups
We’ve heard your feedback, and it seems like our journey into the forest started with a few unexpected twists! Some of you encountered challenges entering the forest, while others faced issues progressing after defeating the zombies. It’s almost like the forest decided to have a “technical boss fight” of its own! 😅 But don’t worry, we’re on it, and things should be back on track soon.
Our Main Goals
We aim to introduce a stronger RPG vibe, reducing the focus on mining during the introduction. While mining remains a key mechanic, our primary goal is to emphasize combat and questing, aligning with the expectations of players seeking an RPG experience.
By refining the storyline and mechanics, we hope to better connect with new players, ensuring their journey through Miners Settlement is both engaging and unforgettable.
